Why can't I compare the Return Rate due to size with and without Usizy, in the dashboard?

Comparing the Usizy Return rate versus the one without Usizy is not a valid analysis, as the visitors that use our service before purchase and those who don’t, have a completely different behaviour, and come from a very different context.

Here are some of the key elements to consider in relation to the challenges of understanding and analysing returns:

  • Direct visitors include customers who already know your brand and do not need to confirm their size. Those buyers typically return less.

  • Some Usizy visitors choose to ignore our size recommendation and end up returning afterwards. This does not mean our service is not providing size recommendations correctly.

  • Some Usizy visitors receive more than one size recommendation for the same product, as they change the initial measurements they introduced. In such cases, it is not possible to know which size recommendation was considered for the related purchase.

  • It is impossible to know for sure when to trust that a complete list of returned items for any given period have been received.

Here are some of the reasons why:

    • Depending on your returns policy, you may allow for products to be returned for 30, 60, 90 days, or more…
    • We may not receive all returns (technical issues, manual files not being regularly sent…)
    • Some returns due to size error may not be flagged correctly and remain identified for an incorrect return reason.

For that reason, we do not display such results in our dashboard, and the returns integration is mostly used for Machine Learning and size recommendation continuous improvement.
